How SpaceNexus Uses AI to Generate Daily Space Industry Insights
Behind the scenes of our AI insights pipeline: how we use Claude to analyze space industry trends, fact-check with a second AI pass, and deliver actionable intelligence daily.
Every morning at 1:00 AM UTC, an automated pipeline scans the previous 36 hours of space industry news, cross-references it with recent blog posts and regulatory updates, and generates an original analysis piece. Here's how it works.
The Pipeline
Our AI insights system runs as a scheduled cron job with these stages:
- Data Collection: Fetch recent news (36 hours), blog posts (48 hours), and legal/regulatory updates (72 hours) from our database
- Analysis Generation: Send the aggregated content to Claude with a prompt designed to identify trends, connections, and implications that humans might miss across disparate sources
- Fact-Check Pass: A second AI call reviews the generated analysis for factual accuracy, flagging any claims that can't be supported by the source material
- Editorial Queue: The analysis is saved as "pending review" and an email is sent to our editorial team for human approval before publishing
- Retry Logic: If the 1 AM run fails, a retry fires at 7 AM UTC. The watchdog monitors both runs
Why AI + Human Review
We deliberately chose not to auto-publish AI content. Every insight requires manual admin approval because:
- AI can hallucinate facts about specific companies, funding amounts, or timelines
- The space industry has classified and export-controlled topics that require careful handling
- Tone and framing matter — analysis should be objective, not sensational
- Our readers trust SpaceNexus as an authoritative source; that trust requires human judgment
What It Produces
The pipeline generates analysis covering: emerging trends across multiple news stories, connection patterns between funding events and policy changes, weekly intelligence briefs, and forward-looking implications for different industry segments.
