What to expect

• The Super Heavy booster is to fly a boostback burn and a landing burn at an offshore landing point in the Gulf, not a catch at the tower. The ship is planned to fly about six orbits at roughly 275 km for nearly 10 hours, deploy 26 Starlink V3 satellites, and splash down in the Pacific Ocean west of Chile.
• Sound travels about a kilometre every 3 seconds (a mile every 5), so at a distance you see liftoff before you hear it.
• SpaceX plans this as the first Starship flight to reach orbit. Its launch date is "pending regulatory approval".
• Cameron County closes Highway 4 and Boca Chica Beach for Starbase operations. Closures are posted on the county page linked below; check it before driving toward the site.

Will it go on time?

A launch date is a "no earlier than" target. Weather, a technical hold, the range or a boat in the hazard area can each stop a count on the day, and the provider then names a new time. We do not publish launch odds we cannot back; here is what we recorded.
