DESCRIPTION Role highlights:   - EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Senior Specialist - Location: Valencia - Department: GMO - Reports to: Global EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Manager - Employment type: Permanent - Workplace model: Office - Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)   Why this role matters:   As an EHS Specialist, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of our Environment, Health & Safety programs across our site in Valencia. You’ll play a hands-on role in keeping our people safe, our operations compliant, and our safety culture strong. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.   Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.   Your day-to-day responsibilities Safety & Compliance - Ensure facility compliance with local, national, and international EHS regulations - Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard identifications, and risk assessments in accordance with global practices - Maintain and update local EHS policies, procedures, and standards - Manage permits, licenses, and regulatory reporting requirements Incident Management - Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and follow-up on corrective/preventive actions - Maintain accurate records of near-misses, incidents, injuries, and environmental events - Report EHS metrics and KPIs to management on a regular basis Training & Engagement - Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels - Coach supervisors and team leaders on EHS responsibilities and best practices - Represent Valencia in ICEYE's Global OHS Network - Drive local safety culture initiatives Environmental Management - Monitor and manage waste, emissions, water, and energy consumption - Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure EHS requirements are met on site - Support environmental permit compliance and audits Emergency Preparedness - Maintain and test emergency response plans and procedures - Coordinate fire drills, evacuation exercises, and first aid/emergency response teams What we’re looking for   Must haves:   - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field - 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment - Solid working knowledge of Spanish EHS legislation and regulatory frameworks - Proficient in EHS management systems (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001) and data reporting tools - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (experience in 5-Why, fishbone, or other RCA methodologies) - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously   Nice to haves:   - Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies - Experience working with contractors and managing permit-to-work systems   Application Process   - Talent Acquisition Interview - Hiring Manager Interview - Technical/Case Study Interview - Final Interview with the local team   Working at ICEYE   At ICEYE, you’ll join a diverse and highly engaged team united by the ambition to make the impossible possible.
