Live view

Live view, not yet a published edition: this period's edition is scheduled for 2026-02-06. Until then these figures are recomputed from current data on every visit and should not be cited as the edition.

Back-computed edition

This period closed before the release began publishing on a calendar. The figures are computed from the same tables, but this is a back-calculation rather than what we would have published at the time. Scheduled editions begin with 2026-08.

Manifest changes observed in the month

The slip ledger began recording on 2026-08-29, after this month ended. There is nothing to report, which is different from nothing having happened.

Nothing to report in this table for this edition. An empty table here means we recorded nothing, not that nothing happened.

Launch names and dates are Launch Library 2 by The Space Devs (thespacedevs.com), credited and not sold: every row is public here and in the free slip ledger at /datasets#launch-slips.

Launch slips by provider

Held back until the month's ledger holds at least 25 real slips. This month holds 0, and a rate computed from that many would not mean anything.

Nothing to report in this table for this edition. An empty table here means we recorded nothing, not that nothing happened.

Vehicles not currently flying

From the hand-maintained vehicle status sheet. Each row carries the date the entry was last checked, so a stale sheet is visible rather than silently trusted.

Vehicle	Standing	Where it stands	Sheet as of	Days since checked
Neutron	development	Rocket Lab's reusable medium-lift rocket, ~13,000 kg to LEO; first flight targeted late 2026.	2026-09-06	37
New Glenn	grounded	Grounded while Launch Complex 36 is rebuilt after the May 28, 2026 static-fire explosion; return to flight targeted before the end of 2026.	2026-09-06	37
New Shepard	paused	Paused since January 30, 2026 for at least two years while Blue Origin puts its people on the Blue Moon lunar lander; not selling seats.	2026-09-06	37
SpaceShipTwo (VSS Unity)	retired	Retired after Galactic 07, its final commercial flight, on June 8, 2024; Virgin Galactic expects its Delta-class successors to begin commercial service in February 2027, after selling a limited 50-seat tranche at $750,000 in 2026.

Methodology

Launch counts come from the SpaceEvent table, restricted to rows carrying a Launch Library 2 identifier and a terminal outcome (completed or failed). Curated seed events, which are not launches, are excluded by identifier shape.
A launch is attributed to the month its launch date falls in, in UTC.
"Attempts" counts every launch that left the pad and reached a recorded outcome. Success rate is successes divided by attempts for that month; a month with no attempts reports no rate rather than zero.
Provider is the agency recorded on the launch row as Launch Library spells it; no provider names are merged or renamed.
Slip figures come from the LaunchDateChange ledger, which records every manifest date move we observe. The ledger starts on 2026-08-29 and cannot be backfilled by anyone, us included: Launch Library exposes no revision history. Months before that date report launches without slips, and the page says so.

What this edition can and cannot see

Coverage limits travel with the numbers, here and in every export of them.

This edition counts 24 orbital launch attempts recorded for January 2026: rows carrying a Launch Library identifier and a terminal outcome. Scrubbed and still-upcoming launches are not attempts and are not counted.
Orbital launch attempts only: suborbital flights (New Shepard, Rocket Lab HASTE, SpaceShipTwo, and the Starship test flights before Flight 14 on 28 September 2026, which flew suborbital trajectories) are not counted. Launch Library 2 orbit data decides where it is recorded, and the vehicle decides otherwise. The prior-month, year-ago and year-to-date comparisons use the same rule. Not counted this month: 1 suborbital flight (New Shepard | NS-38, 2026-01-22: New Shepard flies suborbital only).
Launch counts describe our tracker. A month our launch history does not reach reports zero attempts, which is why every edition prints the count rather than only a rate.
Schedule movement is not available for this month: the ledger began recording on 2026-08-29, after the month ended.
Per-provider slip statistics are withheld this month: 0 real slips is below the 25 needed for a rate to mean anything.
