How to recognise email from SpaceNexus
People sometimes send fake emails that pretend to come from directories and data sites, usually to sell a “listing renewal” or to steal a password. This page explains how real email from SpaceNexus looks, so you can check a message before you act on it.
Where our email comes from
- Every email we send ourselves comes from an address ending in exactly @spacenexus.us. Not a look-alike such as spacenexus-us.com, spacenexuss.us or spacenexus.co. The one exception is an invoice: see below.
- Account, sign-in and receipt email comes from noreply@spacenexus.us. Newsletters come from newsletter@spacenexus.us, and launch, watchlist and other alerts you asked for from alerts@spacenexus.us.
- Invoices you agreed to (for example a sponsorship, a partner article or a Research invoice) are emailed by Stripe on our behalf, from stripe.com, and name SpaceNexus LLC. We only invoice for something you asked for.
- A personal note to a company, for example about its profile, comes from the owner at owner@spacenexus.us. We never write to companies about their profiles from the newsletter address.
What we never do by email
- Claiming a company profile, and every claim function, is free, forever. We never charge to claim, to verify or to correct a profile. An email asking you to pay to claim, keep, verify, renew or correct a company profile is not from us.
- We never ask for your password, a sign-in code or payment card details by email.
- We never send invoices for services you did not ask for. Anything you buy from us is bought on spacenexus.us or through a Stripe invoice you asked for.
- We never threaten to remove or change a company profile unless you pay or reply by a deadline.
How to check a message
- Look at the full sender address, not only the display name. The part after the @ must be spacenexus.us.
- Do not use links in a message you are unsure of. Type spacenexus.us into your browser yourself and sign in there; anything we asked you to do will be visible on the site.
- Our domain publishes SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, and we are moving DMARC to a stricter policy so that mail servers reject messages that fake our address. Until then, some fakes may still reach an inbox, so the checks above matter.
Report a suspicious email
Forward it to owner@spacenexus.us, or tell us through the contact page. If it concerns a company profile, you can also check the profile itself and, if anything on it is wrong, use our correction form (no account needed). How we handle corrections is on the corrections page.
