Week in Space Data, every Friday.
How often launch dates move, how to book so a scrub costs you less, and where to stay for each viewing spot.
Nothing on this page is paid. We earn nothing from any link here.
A launch date is a "no earlier than" target, not a promise. Dates move in the days before, and a launch can scrub minutes before liftoff. We cannot promise a launch, and we do not publish odds we cannot back. This is what we recorded:
Nearest viewing spot to its pads first. For road closures and what you will see from each spot, read the Cape Canaveral viewing guide.
About 3 to 6 miles from LC-39A and LC-39B. National Park Service entry fee.
The nearest beds are in Titusville, across the river. The beach and its road often close ahead of launches near 39A, so have a second spot in mind.
About 4 to 7 miles from SLC-40, SLC-41 and LC-36. Small vehicle or parking fee at Jetty Park.
Stay in Cape Canaveral or Cocoa Beach, a short drive from both. Jetty Park also has its own campground, run by the Canaveral Port Authority.
About 12 miles from most pads. Free.
Stay in Titusville to be close to the river. Both spots fill early for big launches, and the causeway lots can close once full.
About 50 minutes by car to Titusville. Free from the city; night launches only.
If you are already staying in Orlando, a night launch is visible low in the east-northeast, and Titusville is under an hour away for the full view.
