SUPO, where required) WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS: As a Customs Specialist, you’ll keep ICEYE’s goods moving compliantly across the world. You'll drive the customs compliance and documentation that keeps ICEYE's satellites moving smoothly between Finland, the EU and our sites worldwide. That means classifying goods correctly, applying the right customs procedures, and making sure every shipment clears without unnecessary delay or cost. You'll work closely with the Freight Forwarding Manager to plan how goods travel by road, air and sea, and use your knowledge of trade agreements and preferential origin rules to reduce duty and landed cost wherever possible. Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.   YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES   - Own day-to-day customs clearance across the EU: release for circulation, outward/inward processing, transit (T1, T2, TIR), customs warehousing, bonded storage and temporary admission. - Maintain HS/Taric classification and customs valuation for both supplier-sourced and in-house manufactured goods. - Spot risks in international shipments early and resolve them before they reach destinations. - Understand and apply Incoterms with confidence, allocating cost, risk and responsibility correctly across every lane. - Prepare for and take part in customs audits, and help strengthen the internal audit and control programme. - Run Binding Tariff Information (BTI) applications regularly and keep the resulting rulings current. - Write clear SOPs that colleagues can follow without you having to explain them. - Pursue free trade agreement benefits (preferential origin, EUR.1, statements on origin, REX registration) and maintain the supplier declaration chain. - Track and report the impact of your work: duty avoided, duty recovered and landed cost reduced. - Contribute to Freight Forwarding strategy across road, air and sea, flagging where routing, mode or documentation choices affect customs treatment or cost. - Recognise dangerous goods shipments (IATA DGR, ADR, IMDG) and check the required documentation. - Support material flow between ICEYE's Espoo site and our sites worldwide, reconciling physical goods against ERP, WMS and TMS records. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (MUST HAVES): - A track record of reducing duty and landed cost through preferential origin, free trade agreements, relief or suspension regimes, or classification and valuation work, with results you can point to. - Working knowledge of rules of origin and the origin documentation regime, including supplier declarations. - Solid understanding of freight forwarding across road, air and sea, including how transport is planned in each mode. - Professional-level Finnish in addition to English. - Curiosity, eagerness to learn more and take full ownership over your scope of work NICE TO HAVES: - Experience with EU and US trade compliance (dual-use Regulation (EU) 2021/821, EAR and ITAR, denied party screening). - Hands-on freight forwarding experience earlier in your career. - Warehousing, inbound and outbound operations experience. - IATA DGR, ADR or IMDG certification. - Practical use of the EU free trade agreement network on lanes relevant to the aerospace or aviation industries. - Experience with defence and government customers, especially in a fast-scaling manufacturing environment.
