Week in Space Data, every Friday.
GeoOptics operates a GNSS radio occultation weather satellite constellation under its CICERO program, selling atmospheric sounding data to NOAA and international meteorological agencies.
ACTIVEGeoOptics, founded in Pasadena in 2006 by working scientists and engineers, provides Earth observation data on the atmosphere, surface and subsurface for government, commercial and research customers, including GNSS radio occultation data from its CICERO small satellites; NOAA has bought its data under operational data orders.
GeoOptics developed the CICERO (Community Initiative for Continuing Earth Radio Occultation) constellation to provide commercial GNSS-RO data. Radio occultation measurements are among the most cost-effective and accurate observations for improving numerical weather prediction, particularly for temperature and moisture profiles.
