Senior Propulsion Design Engineer (Deneb)

Job description

Impulse is looking for an experienced design engineer who will contribute to the critical development of Deneb , a ~15,000 lb thrust, ox-rich combustion engine , that will fly on Helios, a high-energy kick stage designed to deliver satellites & payloads to high-energy orbits, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. As a Sr. Propulsion Design Engineer , you will own all aspects of the propulsion system and components of Deneb, from concept to product realization, while working with a fast-paced, agile team. Own all aspects of engine design from concept to product realization Design propulsion engine components and layout Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings Perform fluid, thermal, and structural analysis as required Work with internal and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assemblies Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field 4+ years of experience with flight propulsion components including high-pressure, and high-performance applications 4+ years of hands-on experience working with fluid, electrical and mechanical systems Proficiency in creating engineering drawings and 3D CAD models with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware
