Manufacturing Engineer (Tube Shop)

Job description

As a Manufacturing Engineer (Tube Shop) at Impulse, you will support the build of flight-critical tube assemblies for spacecraft propulsion, fluid transfer, and structural subsystems. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and improving the fabrication processes for rigid and flexible tubing, including bending, flaring, swaging, welding, and assembly. Develop, validate, and continuously improve tube fabrication processes including CNC tube bending, end preparation, Orbital welding, cleaning, and assembly Author and maintain detailed work instructions, process flows, and define custom tooling or fixtures as needed Serve as the go-to technical resource for technicians on the floor. Troubleshoot build issues in real time Collaborate with design and integration engineers to ensure tube routing and assembly designs are producible and optimized for scale Ensure all operations meet strict aerospace process controls. Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for non-conformances Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering or related field 1+ year of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing engineering role (aerospace or high-precision industries preferred) Demonstrated hands-on, shop-floor experience and comfort working directly with technicians and tooling
