Week in Space Data, every Friday.
Scout Space deploys in-orbit optical sensors aboard host satellites to provide close-range space domain awareness and surveillance of nearby objects.
ACTIVEScout Space, founded in 2019, develops an orbital distributed sensor network of in-space sensors and software to improve space domain awareness; its in-space products, first launched in 2021, let spacecraft see and understand their surroundings.
Scout Space is developing a distributed network of optical sensors hosted on commercial satellites to provide real-time space domain awareness (SDA) from orbit. Unlike ground-based tracking, their approach places sensors directly in space for close-range characterization of resident space objects. The Scout Owl sensor payload can identify, track, and characterize objects in its orbital neighborhood, providing data on satellite behavior, proximity operations, and anomalous activities. The company serves both commercial satellite operators and government defense customers.
